The FBPDA’S Family Support Group is a gathering of adult family members and friends of those struggling with intense emotional sensitivity, emotional dysregulation, and BPD. The purpose of the group is to offer compassion and understanding coupled with DBT education to help families navigate their individual journeys more effectively. As families join the group, they quickly realize that the families in attendance have walked in their shoes. The comfort of the connection with others who have had similar experiences provides healing in and of itself. This connection in conjunction with learning, practicing and role playing DBT skills help families recover.
Due to the nature of this group, we ask that only family members and loved ones of those experiencing BPD or emotional dysregulation attend. If you, yourself are experiencing BPD or emotional dysregulation and are looking for support, please check out our free clinician- led DBT Skills Classes.
There are evidence based studies that demonstrate that when families learn and grow with DBT skills, their loved ones, even without therapy or treatment, improve as well. The group facilitators have had DBT family training and have lived experience, so that each session is designed to provide information and encouragement. We teach the DBT skills from the skills training manual by the treatment developer, Marsha Linehan.

The FBPDA Family Support/Skills Group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 PM on Zoom for an hour and a half
