Mindful Smelling: Get a bunch of cotton balls with different smells on each (perhaps using essential oils?). Take one and smell it. Write down the thoughts you have while smelling it.
In the video below, Neuroscientist Sara Lazar’s brain scans show meditation (just one way to practice mindfulness!) can actually change the size of key regions of our brain, improving our memory and making us more empathetic, compassionate, and resilient under stress. Like Dan Harris from Day 1’s video, Sara Lazar got curious about meditation and wanted to know if there was scientific evidence to support it’s effectiveness. This is what she found:
